Corran, Ullapool, Scotland

Location
		Ullapool is just 55miles north-west of Inverness by road. It is a fine drive passing beautiful scenery , lochs, rivers and hills. Although it is relatively close to Inverness, the journey over, gives a sense of remoteness and wildness that is quite breathtaking. The first view of the village is from a distance, lying out on the shore of the sea-loch, Loch Broom . The road to take from Inverness is the A9, then the A835 (at the Tore roundabout) all the way to Ullapool. Ullapool itself is a good centre from which to explore north to Achiltibuie or further beyond to Durness and the north coast of Scotland, or southwest to Gairloch or northeast to Lairg and Loch Shin. A car ferry sails daily out of Ullapool to Stornoway in the outer Hebrides.
